Cad Goddeu (English: The Battle of the Trees) is a medieval Welsh poem preserved in the 14th-century manuscript known as the Book of Taliesin. The poem refers to a traditional story in which the legendary enchanter Gwydion animates the trees of the forest to fight as his army.
By filling the large hall of Pictura with fog from a smokemachine, videovisuals, life soundscape and lights, our aim was to create a dreamlike setting for the audience. As if they were wandering about in a lucid dream, we wanted them to experience what a modern version of nature reclaiming it's position, might look like. In the hall, several small installations and artworks could be found.
